Soft-openings - 20th Anniversary

It's been a too long while since we posted something on the blog but you could read short news and rumours on both our Twitter and Facebook pages. All preparations are in their last stages as the first day of the 20th Anniversary of our beloved Disneyland Paris is coming closer. Disney Dreams! is almost completed , Meet Mickey ('s) are very close to their finish , the 20th Anniversary Celebration Train is painted and ready to bring your favourtie characters closer, the Magic On Parade has been tested overnight and is ready for soft-openings.

Those soft-openings is the subject of the day as InsideDLParis has posted the dates. Those dates aren't confirmed so nothing is official but InsideDLParis is a very good source so here we go.

The soft-openings for the Disney Magic On Parade will be 26, 27, 28, and 29 March. Starting 31st of March the Magic On Parade will be daily. So if you had a close eye the last chance to see Disney's Once Upon A Dream Parade will be the 30th March.

Disney's 20th Anniversary Celebration Train will get his soft-openings starting 26 March and probably will go on the whole 20th Anniversary.

Disney Dreams! won't have any public soft-openings and will begin preforming the 31 March. Staring the 1st of April Disney Dreams! will have two preformances. A huge rumour is that it would be that way for the whole 20th Anniversary.

Mickey Mouse , the most rumoured figure for the 20th Anniversary as his Fantasy Festival Stage indoor meet'n'greet location had some delay, rumours were unstopable. Will he be on the Celebration Train ? No. Will he stay with Duffy at the boardinghouse ? No. Will he get his own tent in Fantasyland ? No. He will tak his place in the former Woody's Roundup. Soft-openings for this temporary Meet Mickey will start the 28th of March.

The last "Magical Moments" leave...

It is the 4th of March today and alot of Magical Moments are ending today. Today is the official ending day of the Magical Moments Festival. We are going to give a tribue to each of the Magical Moments wich ended , but some magical moments will stay during the 20th Anniversary (probabaly forever). Most of those are photolocations or statues. And this is the list of "Magical Moments" staying.

March 2012 Pin Releases

Finally , thanks to Disney Showcase Key the pin poster of March is here and you will love it. January , one pin . February , two pins. March 13 pins ! The 20th Anniversary pins are here , a nice starte kit with 6 pins , a lovely desing. But whith a less lovely price card. The 20th logo as a pin . And four pins with the 20th logo , the Castle and a Disney Character. The Sint-Patrick's Day pin with Tinkerbell and a new season collection with again the 20th Anniversary. The next Pin Trading Night will be on Friday March 30th at La Cantina at Santa Fé , starting at 6 pm.

Meet Mickey ! - 20th Anniversary

This 20th Anniversary meet'n'greet will be great but late. It won't be finished in time for the start of the 20th Anniversary and the current deadline is 17th of May but it's still unsure if they gonna make that deadline. Enough nagging let's see what DLP has in store for you !

Meet Mickey Mouse!

The old Fantasy Festival Theatre will transform into an indoor Meet'n'Greet. Mickey Mouse who has been meeting guests for 20 years outdoors , finally gets his own place in Fantasyland. You can now meet him 'backstage' in the Fantasyland Theatre. This attraction will be similar to the 'Meet Mickey at the Town Square Theatre' attraction at Walt Disney World.

Once you've entered the theatre there will be a turn to the right which will bring you to the lobby , in the lobby will be 2 waiting lines , one for the normal guests and one for people with an EAC. Waiting can sometimes be boring , so to help that there will be little videos projected onto the walls. Once you've reached the end of the line , you will be escorted to one of the three rehearsal rooms where you finally can meet Mickey Mouse !

When you've met Mickey you continue your way and on the walls near the exit will be little frames where you can view your picture with Mickey Mouse ! At the end of those frames that's where a little shop will be where you can buy your photo souvenir.

Now a very rumoured subject on alot of DLP forums is : where will Mickey be ? The attraction won't open until May so where will Mickey be ? Well there are *** options.

Option 1 : This option is spotted on alot of forums , Mickey Mouse will be in his 20th magician outfit on the 20th Anniversary Celebration Train with all of his friends. This seems like a good option due the official press release of the 20thACT doesn't include Mickey in his line-up of characters.


Option 2 : The old Tangled tent will be transformed into a tent for Mickey , which will be placed in front of the Fantasy Festival Theatre. This could be an option but it will be odd to meet Mickey in front of an unfinished attraction.

Option 3 : He won't go anywhere until May and stay with his teddybear Duffy at the Main Street Boardinghouse.

Duffy , The Disney Bear will stay at the boarding house even when Mickey is greeting guests in Fantasyland.

Disney Magic On Parade ! - 20th Anniversary

The new 20th Anniversary Parade is called Disney Magic On Parade. The parade is Disney's Once Upon A Dream Parade with floats deleted , transformed and painted ! The Disney Magic On Parade will be officially running from April first but several sources confirm that is will doe soft-openings starting the 26th of March ! They've taken the "Dreams" out of the parade and the new theme is "Colour and Light". Let's take a close look to what Disney Magic On Parade will be.

Update 25/02 : A French press article showes that the floats will change places and we've added te translated name of the floats

The first float was previous "Dreams of Imagination" due that one is transformed , after 5 years the moon and the sun are gone. They make place for the Disney magicians float ! The only thing they've kept from 'Dreams of Imagination' is the book base. You've got now a pumpkin with the Fairy Godmother . Then you've got the castle which looks like our own Sleeping Beauty Castle . A fun detail is the Tinkerbell who flew from the 15th Anniversary castle to the 20th anniversary parade float. Of course it isn't the same tinkerbell as it would be way to big for the parade float.

From the Castle to the pumpkin there is a magic golden bridge where our new friend the Blue Fairy (from Pinocchio ) is on. At the back of the float , Merlin has taken Goofy's place to end the firs float.
Rumoured is that the three fairies (Merrywheater ,Flora , Fauna ) will walk in front of the float like Pluto and Chip and Dale did when it still was "Dreams of Imagination".
The float is now called Making Magic.

This float is followed by the romantic part of the parade there will be carriages added for Snow White , Cinderella , Aurore and their princes. Originally they would cut Belle out of the parade but the most popular princess will probably find her way in the is magical parade. Next to these 3/4 carriages , the 'old' Dreams of Romance float will bring not only Ariel and her prince but Tiana and Naveen will be entertaining the guests. And on the back of the float Flynn Rider and Tangled will be swining to the music on her own hair. This part is called Magic of Romance.




The next float won't have any big changes . The former "Dreams of Friendship" will still have Woody , Buzz and the rest of the gang ! Even the name won't change alot from "Dreams of Friendship" to Magic of Friendship .

The parade will continue with Dreams of Laughter & Fun Magic of Laughter & Fun. The next float has some changes. Because of the new theme of the parade (Light & Colour) the villains need to dissapear so goodbye to the Queen of Hearts but she will be repaced by a rabbit wich is in a rush. Yes , the White Rabbit will probably be late for a very important date but he will be joning the Mad Hatter walking in front of the float !
Aslo to the backside of the float , the Pinocchio-part , will have a new dance unit. Say 'au revoir' to the can-can dancers and 'bonjour' to the new dancers 'magic puppets'.

Our journey continues with the magic of Africa. Timon , Pumba and many more Lion King characters will still be present on the Magic of Adventure float. No news reported here so far.



We're almost at the big finish of the parade but we first see London , the Big Ben and then we think about Peter Pan , Marry Poppins . An intresting fact about the Magic of Fantasy , is that it will include the only villain in the show. He may not be the most scary villain especially not when he's dancin on a medley of 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' but he still will be scared of the crocodile during the Disney Magic On Parade.
The Tinkerbell statue on the pirate ship will be removed because Tink is already present on the first float of the parade.

 

Colour and Light is the theme of this parade and the opposite of that are villains on a dark rock so sadly the 'Dreams of Power' float isn't included in this new parade.

To end this magical parade with Celebrate the Magic . A more magical finale of a parade is almost impossible as the "Dreams of Romance II" float will be totally pink. Minnie , Donald , Daisy , Goofy , Chip  and Dale will show their 20th Anniversary magicians outfits. Now to end this parade really magical. The former see-trough castle will be replaced by Mickey Mouse himself in his Fantasia pose and aslo he will be wearing his 20th Anniversary magician outfit.

Now the music is going to be new ! Composers who did various Disney Channel projects and the Soundsational Parade made a new song called ; "Magic Everywhere" all about the song including its lyrics can be found in this article : 20th news : Magic Everywhere !

Disney Dreams ! - 20th Anniversary

To make the Disneyland Paris' 20th anniversary unforgettable we get our own nighttime spectacular with amazing special effects. Now on the Combined General Meeting from 17 February alot of information joined what we already now and this is what we know about

Disney Dreams - An Immersive Nighttime Spectacular !

Disney Dreams will be the first fountain show ever at Disneyland Paris. It will not only feature foutains but also fire , water vapour , projections , water screens , lasers and fireworks !The projections will be both on the Sleeping Beauty Castle and on the 2 9m long water screens on both sides of the castle. The exiting thing about Dreams is that Steven Davison is working on it . Steven Davison is the designer of the spectacular 'Fantasmic' and 'World of Color'

Now what's the story about these 'Dreams' ? Well, Peter Pan's shadow escapes and makes his way through the classic Disney stories ! The one thing which is very important in the story is 'The Second Star To The Right' but where is it hiding ? If you take a look at this pictures also from the CGM shot by http://www.papa-citoyen.net/

You'll see that the highest window is opening up and the shining star is coming out . Now we need to explain the story after the shadow escapes the only way to do that is using the music schedule :

Now you can imagine how the show will look like but the opening of the show was released as an animation with the presentation of Dreams our friend from Papa Citoyen was there and made a short video of it :

The show will premiere the April first. But you can't make Dreams in one night so with the pictures of ThemeParkZone.es which give a view of what's going on in the waters of Disneyland Paris.
Those waters are dry now and people are working day and night to get everything finished. The first pictures display the construction which makes the water screens , it is far from finished and this is what they look like from Central Plaza :

And when you go close you can see them in their full length , there with two the right one ...

These are probably going to move a bit and get theming , there are rumours that they are going to  be placed on an elevator due then it would be time to install those ...

Now continuing with the fountain bases , you've got 3 kinds the "Big Blasters" which can go higher than the castle itself . They bring the power and the wow-factor. You've got the fountain bases with the dark green box at the end those are very important for the show as they are the most used in the show. They you've got the thin lines with small mouths on it those are giving water vapour which is partly for the show but they can be used to cover up the ugly fountains during the day giving Sleeping Beauty Castle a magic fog (similar to the Tarzan , The Encounter fog).

And ofcoure the water screens need to be projected from behind , they made a hole in the castle's rockwork next to entrance of  'La Tanière du Dragon' the attraction sign has also disappeared a picture of  @InsideDLParis show a black constructions moving in to the rockwork.

Yesterday we published the song lyrics for the Disney Magic On Parade . On the internet alot of version are making it's round due the most are incorrect .
